Victor Vasarely (French/Hungarian, 1906-1997) Original Hand Signed Limited Edition Serigraph Numbered 15/75 - This rare piece is an original serigraph by French-Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely. The piece is a brilliant composition in red, green, gray, and black. It is circa 1970's, hand-numbered in pencil 15/75 in the lower left corner, and is signed in pencil by Vasarely in the lower right corner. The piece measures 17"L x 15"W. Victor Vasarely is a French-Hungarian artist, known as a "grandfather" and leader of the "Op Art" movement. Vasarely produced art and sculpture using optical illusion. For three decades, he developed his style of geometric abstract art, working in various materials. Vasarely_s paintings and sculpture utilized geometrical shapes and colorful graphics to create illusions of spatial depth on two-dimensional surfaces. His works sell for tens of thousands of dollars.
