Description
Large belt buckle belonging to the great Western showman William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody (American, 1846-1917). The buckle is monogrammed "W.F.G. on a scalloped edge. The buckle is handmade metal and appears be predominantly brass with strong patination. Measures 6 1/8" x 4 1/8". Reverse has residue from prolonged contact to the leather belt as well as hair from cow hide. Great piece of Western Americana.
The other item is a leather reciept bag from Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. The bag has a plaque on either side one side marked "Buffalo Bill's Wild West" the other "Receipts". ZIpper still works well and is marked "Lance". Pouch measures 15" x 6" and has wear consistent with age.
