EARLY VICTORIAN PERIOD BELLOWS CAMERA AND TRIPOD
EARLY VICTORIAN PERIOD BELLOWS CAMERA AND TRIPOD
Item Details
Description
An early wood frame bellows camera with brass fittings likely dating to the mid 1800s. No lens or tripod is present. The wooden camera base frame measures 31 in long by 14-3/4 in wide and the assembly is 19 in tall at the plate receiver. The fabric covered paper bellows has deteriorated over the decades with the fabric now loose. The brass fittings are in good condition as is the frame. No markings relative to manufacturer are present. The wooden tripod also has brass fittings. The camera mounting bracket measures 13-1/4 in by 14-1/4 in. The tripod stands 40 inches tall with the non-telescoping legs drawn in. The camera frame fits onto the mounting bracket, however this may not be the original tripod for this camera. The tripod is in fair to good condition with some spray p[paint flecking evident. The camera is in fair condition.
