Description
attributed to John and Thomas Seymour, circa 1800, century; flat top with banded inlaid edge, projecting center bay with two oval patera inlaid drawers over double arched bracket legs, astragal ends each with a quarter-round drawer and compartments enclosed by solid panel door, six straight tapered legs with spade feet and stringer inlay, inlaid bellflowers to legs with elongated center petal and separated by ebony dot, period oval plate and bail brasses, 40 1/2 in. H., 72 in. W., 28 1/2 in. D.; Authenticated by Robert D. Mussey, author of "The Furniture Masterworks of John and Thomas Seymour," published by Peabody Essex Museum, 2003, see plate 34 for comparison
