Description
Three-Piece Suite of American Arts and Crafts Oak Seating Furniture, early 20th century, comprised of a settee and a pair of armchairs, each of pegged construction, with open shaped arms and low stretchers, now upholstered in brown leather, chair, h. 39", settee, h. 39", w. 57-3/4", d. 24-1/2". Provenance: Succession of George S. "Dod" Stewart, Slidell, Louisiana.
Condition
In overall very good condition. The pieces are structurally sound and serviceable. There is a small amount of play in one armchair at the juncture of the rear legs and seat rails. The play is slight enough that the chair is readily functional as-is. Minor normal mars, wear and indications of age and use, including some scattered paint smudges. The upholstery is in good condition. NOTE: The upholstery on this suite is faux leather, not genuine leather.
