A fine 18th century English moon phase tall case grandfather clock crafted by Winder and Houghton Chorley, triple signed on the case, dial and movement, housed in a flame mahogany and satin inlay case, with bulbous brass spire finials, detailed s-scrolling and pediment bonnet, 2 weight drive train movement which has a rich chime on the hour, hand painted dial with Roman numeral hour and Arabic numeral minute designations, accented with birds flowers and woman bearing fruit, hand painted moon phase dial depicting maritime scene, hand forged open work spade hands, subsidiary seconds and 29 1/2 day moon phase functions, comes with original cabinet and winding keys and would make an impressive gift or addition to any fine collection. - SIZE: 95" height x 23" length x 10" width. - CONDITION: Some crazing on the dial and an old restoration to the bonnet just above the Winder Chorley signature, overall normal wear consistent with age, keeps great time, has rich chime on the hour.
