Description
Large antique Chinese silk Kesi panel depicting figures in a landscape and in an architectural setting. 19th century (or earlier). This textile looks quite old. Signed with a red chop mark on the upper border, on the reverse. Presently museum mounted, suspended by the top and bottom between two separated plexiglass panels, and framed in a beautiful silver-leaf frame. Two Chinese style brass finals on the top of the frame for hanging. Finely executed, decorated in woven silk colors, gold thread highlights and some painting of details. With a border in purple of flaming pearls and stylized dragons.
