Remington Rolling Block Heavy Barrel Rifle. 
Serial no. 376 (on barrel under fore-end), 36 caliber (marked on barrel), 30 inch heavy octagonal barrel with front and rear sight. Upper tang marked REMINGTON ILION N.Y. U.S.A. with patent dates. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Crescent metal buttplate.

Condition: Good. Showing moderate to heavy wear overall. Originally a blued finish barrel has traces of it, but mostly a plum brown look now. The same goes for the frame. Some bubbling and pitting overall. Marred and replaced screws. Stocks with repairs and cracks (buttstock not original to gun). Lower tang appears to have a period repair and or extension. Noticeable crack to each side of stock at wrist. Wood and metal with mold traces from poor storage. Action good. Bore good.
