Description
U.S. Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry Saber Made by P.S. Justice. 35 ½-inch curved blade marked "P. S. JUSTICE / PHILADA" on the reverse ricasso. Brass half-basket guard. Leather-covered wood grip wrapped with twisted brass wire. Iron scabbard with two mounting rings. No inspector's marks on the drag.

Condition: Excellent. The blade is bright and smooth with only trivial scabbard wear. The wood grip is cracked with some loss to the leather wrap. The hilt has a smooth, dark patina. The iron scabbard is dent free and displays only scattered light surface rust.
