DOUGLAS MACARTHUR (1880-1964) & JEAN MACARTHUR (1898-2000). American five-star general and Field Marshal of the Philippine Army, received the Medal of Honor for his service.
Autographed Card Signed, “Douglas MacArthur / Jean MacArthur” in black ink, measures 3.25” x 4.25” mounted to a larger 4.5” x 6” autograph albumn page, no date or place, Choice Extremely Fine. Quite rare being signed as a pair together.
Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964) was an American five-star general and Field Marshal of the Philippine Army. He was Chief of Staff of the United States Army during the 1930s and played a prominent role in the Pacific theater during World War II. He received the Medal of Honor for his service in the Philippines Campaign, which made him and his father Arthur MacArthur, Jr., the first father and son to be awarded the medal. He was one of only five men ever to rise to the rank of General of the Army in the US Army, and the only man ever to become a field marshal in the Philippine Army.
Jean Marie Faircloth MacArthur (December 28, 1898 – January 22, 2000) was the second wife of U.S. Army General of the Army Douglas MacArthur.
