Description
An Egyptian painted wooden 'mummy' mask, Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, or facial portion from a sarcophagus lid, with green painted skin representing the god Osiris and the passage to the afterlife. The eye are large and beautifully painted and the whole piece is well-preserved with great eye appeal. 8 in x 6 ¼ in (20.4 x 15.9 cm). Mounted on a lucite stand. Ex Nomis Antiquities.
