Description
An Egyptian bronze sarcophagus for a shrew, Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, consisting of a rectangular box with open end revealing the hollow interior. Atop the box is a nicely modeled representation of a shrew with naturalistic style and great detail. 3 3/8 in x 1 3/8 in 1 5/8 in (8.6 x 3.5 x 4.2 cm). Well-preserved with thick green patina. Ex Nomis Antiquities.
