Depiction of Venice with view over the Canal Grande to the baroque church Santa Maria della Salute, which had been already painted by artists such as Francesco Guardi, William Turner or Oskar Kokoschka
Condition:
The sheet is in a good condition with minimal marks upper right and very tiny damages to the lower right edge. The frame shows usual traces of age and wear as well as scattered loss of color and scratches.
Christian Kruck (1925-1985)
Christian Kruck initially completed an apprenticeship as lithographer and then studied, interrupted by military service and captivity, in Nuremberg and Freiburg. He worked as a freelance artist in Hamburg since 1949 and developed the complex printing process of lithography painting. In 1953 he became technical director of the printing workshops at the Städel School in Frankfurt, in 1970 he recieved a lectureship in printmaking. Kruck, who also created paintings and sculptures, received for his intensive study of the lithography the first prize of the International Senefelder Foundation in 1975. (msc)
