Carmelita de maxi. Conciliorum, ac summi pont. autoritate ad Pium IV pont. max. Opusculum in quo tota vis Conciliorm reperitur pro praesenti Synodo celebranda perutile. Very scarce pamphlet against Lutherans and on papal authority, written during the Council of Trent.
Giovanni Maria Verrati (Ferrara 1490-1563) was a an Italian Carmelitan friar and theologian, teacher of theology at Bologna and Ferrara. He fought the Lutheranism with his Disputationes adversus lutheranos, in 15 treatises (1538) and in many other pamphlets.
Provenance: One of the copies reserved by the printer to the author, and with Verrati's autograph inscription Authoris munus ("author's gift").
