A beautiful pair of flintlock pistols by the master BP, dating: 17th Century, provenance: Tuscany, dating: 17th Century, provenance: Tuscany, Long, smooth, two-stage, 14 mm cal. barrels, octagonal at the first part with longitudinal grooves and the signature 'LAZARINO COMINAZZO', the second round, with ring at the girdle and moulded muzzle; modern-like locks finely chiselled with snakes and floral motifs, at the inside the stamp 'PB' surmounted by a star enclosed in a heart; wooden full stocks sculpted with grooves and floral motifs (one of the pistol restored at the neck); iron mounts richly chiselled with floral motifs, butt-plates with animals; the areas around the tang, under the trigger guard and in front of the locks all featuring finely pierced, inlaid plaques; triggers pierced and engraved with snake, iron belt hooks, wooden ramrods with chiselled, iron tips., length 51 cm.
