A scarce dagger of the Spanish War squads with case, dating: second quarter of the 19th Century, provenance: Kingdom of Italy, dating: second quarter of the 19th Century, provenance: Kingdom of Italy, Straight, double-edged blade, ribbed at the center, featuring the motto QUANDO IL CANNONE TUONA E' LA VOCE DELLA PATRIA CHE CHIAMA / 'PRESENTE' on one side, two fasces near a flaming grenade surmounted by the number '1' at the tang, all surmounting a Savoy knot; the opposite side featuring the writing SQUADRISTA REMO POLI / SPAGNA 19-7-XV = 20-3-1939-XVII and a big, Toledo stamp at the tang. Iron quillon with widened quillons, curved toward the edges. Grip with iron ring-nut; black, leather covering and brass wire binding, olive-pommel. Leather scabbard with iron mounts. Kept in its case, covered with black, Moroccan leather and featuring a gilded decoration with fasces and the Falange arrows on the cover. Peach-pink, velvet and silver lining at the inside. , length 31,5 cm.
