The sheet measures 38 1/8" x 25 1/8". The watermark reads, 'J WHATMAN / TURKEY MILL'. The sheet is darkened at the edges and lightly darkened under the mat and verso. There are numerous handling creases in the lower margin. There is a 1" tear in the upper right margin, a few scattered foxing marks, and soiling in the margin, mostly at right, from handling. Exhibits good original colors, with a blindstamp 'Field Columbian Museum Library'
