Second quarter 20th century, 332 x 229 cm, Western Central Persia
A Bakhtiari from the village of Shalamzar in the Chahar Mahal region. Two large, dark blue cruciform medallions are aligned on the central axis of a red field densely covered in flowering stems; cut medallions are seen along the sides of the field all around. The border design of cartouches is a typical feature of Shalamzar rugs. A fine weave and a very beautiful palette. – Good condition.
