Rare work of the Florentine physician Ferdinando Giorgi, which incorporates hypotheses and experiments of Meusnier and Lavoisier about water decomposition; the author accepts the principle that water is a compound in which enters "the dephlogisticated air"; however it come to different conclusions from those of Lavoisier. Despite its unnecessary disputes, Giorgi is worth remembering, as he himself claims, "for being the first who has dared to repeat in Europe the important and delicate experiments Philosophers Parisians"; and he was honorably mentioned by Rozier in the "Journal de Paris" for these experiments, which were going in the direction similar to those of the French chemists.Fresh specimen.
