American Folk Art pitcher. Clear-glazed red earthenware with yellowish white Slip geometric decorations in a traditional manner. Characteristic baluster shape with a separately attached handle. American in origin, acquired in Rural Pennsylvania (Lancaster County),19th Century. Condition
All original. Glaze crazing as evidence of it's great age. Some minor splits in the body from the primitive way of firing. Extensive use and clay impurity lead to two chips and an associated hairline on the bottom edge where it meets the table, as well as a spot of missing glaze on the underside
