The Beatles. B&W, 1964. Fiber-based silver gelatin. Older print, c. 1970s-80s. The Beatles, having a pillow fight. Signed, dated, and inscribed in ink to Neil Leifer by photographer, "21st June 91. To Neil, a legend, the one to beat, from his pal." 20 x 16in. Photographer's stamp on verso. Condition issue: Print has tear and creasing in upper right border, approximately 4in. x 2in., and second tear on upper left border, approximately 1 x 2in., both on border only. Print has tear on lower and lower right, into image area, approximately 5in. long, 2in. into lower right of image and across inscription. Tape holding tears in place. No paper loss.
The photographs in this auction have been examined by an expert, whose opinions pertaining to the age of the prints, the printing process, and the type of paper used, are included in the description of each photograph. Although Guernsey’s believes these descriptions to be accurate, interested buyers are urged to personally inspect the prints either at the public preview or by appointment with Guernsey’s. As with all items in this auction, all lots are being sold as is.
