The 6238 was produced from the early 1960s to 1967, and this example is fitted with the Cal. 72B which was later replaced with the 722 in 1965. Rolex has a long history of supplying watches to the military. The Peruvian Airforce commissioned various watches for its personnel and it is estimated that around 700 watches were issued, and the limited number makes this a rare watch.
