Description
A beautifully colored weaving from Central Asia. The color combination is quite striking, with a nice clear green, iridescent blue, unfaded yellow, apricot and madder red. Such weavings were made for a variety of uses, including covers for decorative purposes (sometimes associated with dowry function) or as 'bokche', or covers in which other items, including other textiles and possibly special clothing would be stored. The weave is fine and the handle is very supple. The condition is good, with no repairs or holes. All the colors are derived from natural dyes. SiZE - 3'8" x 4'7"
