Civil War Soldier-Sailor Carved Cane-C. 1870-1900-A great cane with a soldier and a rifle, sailor, flags, great cat & fiddle, rifle and knapsack, horse, cow, dogs, monkey, rooster, woman, and carved tassels. Most probably a vet's cane( G.A.R.) It is very busy and nicely carved and one of the best, all original color & finish. Many fine similar examples can be found in "American Folk Canes". George Meyer.
