Carved Wood African ArtItem: Mask Origin: Vuvi from Gabon Dimensions: 13 x 8 inches
Vuvi masks are very flat with distinct features such as strongly arched eyebrows, narrow eyes and mouth, and a sharp pointed chin. Masks painted white were used in funerary ceremonies, since white symbolized death.
