This is the stated third printing of the first edition of The Juniper Tree and Other Tales from Grimm (332 combined pages), translated by Lore Segal and Randall Jarrell, illustrated and signed by Maurice Sendak, and published by Farrar, Straus, Giroux in 1974. This has a clean and unfaded slipcase, which has no breaks or like flaws. The dust jackets are lightly sunned to the spine areas, and with minor edge wear, but otherwise clean, unfaded, and with no notable tears. The covers (7.125" x 5.75") have the slightest sunning to some edges. They are otherwise unfaded, with the gilt lettering like new and the spines straight. The insides are flawless, with no stains, tears or creases. The bindings are tight, with no loose or missing pages.The only writing is the Sendak signature, to the half-title page of Volume I.
