Mixed Media on paper, measuring 18.25 x 25 inches. Howard Warshaw was an important Southern California modernist who studied under Eugene Berman and Rico Lebrun. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum, LACMA, and the Norton Simon Museum, amongst others.This piece was acquired from the Tajan sale of estate of Julien Levy, the art dealer who played an important role in bringing European Surrealism to the United States. Lot 218.
