Description

Superb model of the Swedish tall ship "Fredericus Quartus" by renowned ship model maker Peter Henrick Ness. This model is considered to be the highest accomplishment of his illustrious ship model artistry. Featuring a planked and pegged hull, four rows of turned cannons, and carvings of amazing quality. Carvings include a figurehead, stern carvinces, lanterns, crowns, figures, etc. There are a never ending quantity of individual details to admire. The rigging is incredible with three turned and served cords, clove-hitched ratlines, intricate pulleys and deadeyes, and stitched flags. The planked deck carries hatches, capstans, and guns on carriages rigged with four block and tackle with served cords. Other deck details include belaying pin rails with lots of cord, ladders, railings, belfry with bell, flagstaff, cleats, etc.
Mounted on brass pedestals into an inlaid mahogany display case with raised panel table.
