An extremely rare radiation suit helmet worn by Spock, actor Leonard Nimoy in The Original Series episode \"The Naked Time\". While surveying the planet PSI 2000 and searching for the research team located there , a member of the away team led by Spock becomes infected with an alien virus. This rare piece is hand sewn together with an intricate layer of circular metal-mesh accents laid on top. The helmet features an opening on the front where the actors would see through, and is has been cut on the sides of the piece to fit the shape of the actors shoulders. The inside of the helmet features a round piece of thick black fabric to keep the helmets shape, and a piece of wire sewn into the right side of the face opening. Since this piece was hand made, it can be screen matched via the placement of the metallic circular details that encompass the helmet. Each circular detail matches identically to the version worn by Spock in the episode. There is also a small indentation on the top of the helmet that matches, and the top of the helmet has been stapled together where each staple can be matched via their placement to the version seen on screen. This remarkable piece was gifted to a cast member who received it from a member of makeup department from The Original Series, and has been screen matched to the version worn by Leonard Nimoy.
