Note: Lady Labouchère as mentioned in the gallery label to the work's verso refers to Rachel Labouchère (English, 1908–1996), wife of George Labouchère (1905–1999). The pair are counted among the notable residents of Dudmaston Hall north of Bridgnorth in Shropshire, England.

Painting has been relined. Two patches to verso; one at center left and one at lower right. Scattered minor in-painting detected throughout; one significant area of inpainting to center right just below mast of French flag. Lower quadrants with scattered minor losses commensurate with stretching; apparently stable.
