Description
Six-Piece Collection of Copper Cookware, second half 19th century, English and French, including five saucepans, h. 4-1/2" to 7-1/4", dia. 8-3/4" to 12-1/4", and a saute pan, h. 3-1/2", dia. 9-3/4", three pieces with dovetailed construction. Provenance: Personal collection of D. Didier, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
There are scattered scratches, nicks and dents (mostly to the rims and bases), and light rust to the interiors of two pots. There is some wear/rubbing to the copper exterior that exposes the tin coating, and abrasions to the copper exterior of one pot, likely caused by steel wool. The largest pot is marked "J.H. & M.C./New York". Structurally sound. Condition is consistent with age and cookware.
