Description
A DAYAZHAI PURPLE-GROUND FAMILLE-ROSE NARCISSUS TRAY
QING DYNASTY, GUANGXU PERIOD
Of hexagonal form, supported on six tabbed feet, decorated on the exterior with colored enamels of pink peony sprays, the under section of the rim with the characters Dayazhai, beside the Tian Di Yi Jia Chun iron-red sealmark, all reserved on a rich purple-ground, the flat mouth rim with a rich blue enamel key-fret band, the interior plain white, the base with four-characters Yong Qing Chang Chun in iron red.
Accordingly, the original sketch of this design, from which the various ceramic forms were commissioned, is illustrated in Guo Xingkuan and Wang Guangyao, Guanyang Yuci: Gugong bowuyuan cang Qingdai zhici guanyang yu Yuyao, Beijing, 2007, pp. 198-199.
