Item Details
Description
Pen & Ink Jack Levine (1915-2010) was an American Social Realist painter best known for his satires on modern life, political corruption, and biblical narratives. Born to Lithuanian Jewish parents, Levine grew up in the South End of Boston, going on to study drawing at Harvard University. After fighting in WWII, Levine’s artworks took on a more political tone, making sharp commentary on the state of American life and political corruption. His artworks have been displayed in the NYC Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and are now featured in a number of public collections.
