This particular piece was specially crafted circa the 1930's or 1940's. It features a sturdy, fair wooden design including two fully functional drawers for adequate storage. Berkey & Gay was a national furniture design retailer that had been prominent throughout the late 19th century. The company was producing steady sales between the US and Europe until the Great Depression had a near fatal shock to its finances. In 1935, the company reopened under new management until ultimately being bought out in 1948, with production ceasing.
