A George II silver pair cased verge pocket watch, the movement signed James Hunt, London, no. 1308, hallmarked London 1748, scratch engraved to the back of the outer case James Briant and a leafy frond, the inner case with James Briant, a setting sun, a flower and a fish, the white dial with black Roman numerals, Arabic minutes and blued steel hands, the verge fusee movement with a pierced and engraved eared balance cock of a grotesque mask, a bird and scroll foliage, engraved regulator plate with hand pointing to the silvered regulator disc, square baluster pillars, three arm steel balance and undersprung balance spring, 50mm diameter
