Description
So, in the same way that the 1919 World Series is printed in the boldest of fonts in the annals of baseball history (though for decidedly different reasons), one can rest assured that they'll still be talking about 2004 long after the last witness is gone. So one need only consider the market trajectory of Black Sox material to anticipate how this gorgeous symbol of New England's most glorious October might perform through the passing of decades.
This ring was presented to Red Sox front office staffer Luis E. Reyes, but we stress that it is identical in every regard to those earned on the field by Manny, Pedro, Big Papi and the boys. It's a stunner too--after nearly nine decades of waiting, it's little surprise that management spared no expense, crafting a ring simply swimming in diamonds and rubies, and crafted from eighteen karat white gold. The team's ruby-red logo "B" rests in a diamond-studded baseball diamond on the face, ringed with still more diamonds and the those long-prayed-for words, "World Champions."Â Left shank provides an enameled "sox" logo and the text "Greatest Comeback in History 2004, 8 Straight."Â Right shank is engraved with the recipient's surname, joined by an image of Fenway Park, the World Series trophy, and the words "4-0 Sweep."
Interior of band is stamped "86 Years, 10-27-04, Josten's 18K ."Â Measures to a massive size fourteen and a half (14.5). Total ring weight approximately eighty-two grams (82g.). Ring is in Mint condition, housed in its original cherry wood and glass hinged display box.
