Item Details

Description

A LARGE EARLY CORLISS STEAM ENGINE CUTAWAY DEMONSTRATION MODEL. The cast frame incorporating highly-detailed Corliss valve gear including a 2" diameter wrist plate, adjustable linkage, spring-loaded intake valves, dashpots and adjustable speed control. Other details include detachable wrist plate rod to center-mounted vertical pivot and rod to crankshaft-driven eccentric, crankshaft with wooden hand-crank, double-tapered connecting rod to working crosshead and cutaway cylinder assembly revealing steam piston with Corliss valve-ports and other fine details, all mounted on a hardwood base 32 1/2" x 4 1/2"; height to top of speed control - 10". Weight - 10 lbs. (See photo).
