Item Details

Description

Set of four 19th century Chinese hardstone inlaid cinnabar wall panels. Each panel has a protective gilded glass panel covering the work. The panels feature wildlife and water scenes with birds, crabs, trees, and more. Each signed near top. Condition: heavy signs of age throughout, wear to gilded border on glass, soiling to wood and glass in areas, cinnabar finish within cases is two toned in areas, signs of minor bug damage in areas, a few small losses to florals, what appears to be early professional repairs to two crabs on one panel, see images. Each panel measures a total of 56" tall x 18.5" wide and 2" deep. Weight: 125 lbs.
