Description
A choice Egyptian terracotta funerary cone for Menkheperreseneb, New Kingdom, time of Thutmose III - Amenhotep II, c. 1479 - 1401 BC, long and slender, the face with impressed hieroglyphic text reading 'King's scribe, overseer of the double granary of Upper and Lower Egypt, Menkheperreseneb, justified before the great god.' L: 9 1/2 in (24.1 cm). A few minor chips around the perimeter of the face, well-preserved red lip. A very nice example! For other examples of this cone see Daressy, Recueil de Cones Funeraires.
