Sumerian Empire, ca. 3500 - 1700 BCE.
A Pair of Sumerian Shell Beads, ca. 3500 - 300 BCE. A couple of shell beads or pendants of annular shape with pierced knobs for suspension. The rings remind of Sumerian shell money cut from cone shaped shells brought from the Mediterranean shore. Shell money has been found at various sites in the Near East, primarily at the locations of the early cities of Mesopotamia and along the trade routes between Assyria and Sumeria. Approximately 1""H.
A pair of Calcite Feet, ca. 2100 - 1700 BCE. Small pair of feet with incised details of the footwear. Rendered as amulets or pendants with drilled suspension holes at the ankles. L. 1.9 cm (0.75 in) and 1.6 cm (0.6 in)
Protosumerian Amulet, Djemdet Nasr Period, Early 3rd Millennium BCE. Calcite amulet in the shape of a stylized animal. A suspension hole through the belly. Djemdet Nasr is a Mesopotamian site located north-east of Babylon and Kish. 1.9cm L.

Feet: Good quality objects with neat incisions. One suspension hole broken off, the surface of the second foot slightly worn. Shell Money: Intact and excellent. Amulet: Excellent.
