John H. Boyle - Bellport, Long Island, NY - c.1930's -18.25" long- John Boyle moved from NYC to Bellport in the 1920's after not electing to follow his fathers footsteps in the sail and fabric industry. There he would establish himself as a noted hunter and decoy maker. In addition he was one of the founding organizers of the 1923 Bellport Decoy Show which is widely believed to be the first ever decoy show in the United States. - This hollow carved brant decoy comes with its original rigging weight attached. It was branded a couple times L.R.M. - Condition: Old working paint
