Description
After a brief spell at the Paris Observatory, he became a well-known scientific columnist. He helped to spread astronomy throughout society. In 1883, he set up an observatory in Juvisy and won the grand prize for his experiments at the 1900 Universal Exhibition.Autograph letter signed Juvisy, 06.09 to an illustrious friend. Having arranged with Baillaud (Edouard, astronomer), in agreement with Finot (Louis, the orientalist), a day to receive his correspondent for lunch: "...sans cérémonie comme il convient en temps de guerre…”. 1 p in-8.
