He took his first violin lessons from his brother Emile and then from a Polish master in Montreux. At the age of 21, he was appointed professor at the Lausanne Conservatoire. In 1919 he took over Ysaye's class in Cleveland. In 1929 he returned to Lausanne and in 1948 to the USA.Photograph with autograph dedication signed in November 1947 to Paul Langer, along with signature of the pianist Jacqueline Blancard (1909-1994).
