Description

At the age of 5, he began learning the trumpet with his father. At 7, he switched to the piano with his sister. He worked several hours a day, which explains his incredible virtuosity. At 14 he left school to become a professional musician. In 1942, he joined the Johnny Holmes Orchestra as a soloist.
