Description
Agricultural engineer and politician. From 1934 to 1938, he was director of the Lower Austrian Farmers' Association. From 1938 to 1945, he was a prisoner in the Dachau concentration camp, then in Mauthausen. From 1945 to 1953, he was Chancellor, and from 1953 to 1959, Foreign Minister. From 1959 to 1962, he was the first President of the National Council.
