Description
In 1870, he was an avocat gŽnŽral in Lyon. He served as a volunteer in the Franco-Prussian War and was wounded on the night of 28 December. Returning to the National Assembly, he was Minister of Public Works for a few days in 1873, then entered the Senate, where he was Vice-President from 1894 to 1897. In 1890, he became a member of the AcadŽmie des sciences morales et politiques.Autograph letter signed and dated 20.04.1914. "... the wishes that I form with all the friends of civilisation and Justice for the end of the horrible war unleashed by German pride and bad faith".
