Description
Appointed second lieutenant in 1915, he left for Senegal to recruit the black army requested by General Mangin. He was seriously wounded and awarded the LŽgion d'honneur in 1918. From 1921 to 1923, he studied law in Algiers and Nancy. In 1939 he was in Chad. The Vichy government sentenced him to death for the capture of Fort-Archambault. In 1943, he was awarded the Liberation Cross. In 1951, he was promoted to Major General. In May 1961, he was appointed to the High Military Tribunal, but his conscience dictated that he should resign.Signed printed photograph applied to cardboard in-16, to Paul Langer.
