Description
Graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique in 1807 and the Metz engineering school in 1809. He was aide-de-camp to General Haxo and joined Napoleon during the Hundred Days. Battalion commander in 1827, he fought in Algeria as a lieutenant-colonel. Lieutenant-General in 1845, he received the Marshal's baton in 1851. Senator, Grand Marshal of the Palace, Minister of War and then Minister of the Household of the Emperor.Autograph letter signed, dated Paris, 28.07.1869 to Paul Langer Senior. As Minister for Trade, he writes to Paul Langer Senior about the rice trade.
