Description
Andy Warhol (1928-1987) " Blue Marilyn" Original Artist Proof printed by Aetna Silkscreen Products, Inc., New York and published by Factory Additions, New York. Rubber stamped/ and hand signed in pencil "Andy Warhol" and numbered "A.P. T" as the catalog T in original run. This work was done in 1976. Sheet measures 36 x 36 inches (91.4 x 91.4cm) and with original Factory additions mounted frame 49 x 49 inches. This is arguably the most important run done by Warhol and the most desirable color phase as the "Shot Sage Blue". The work is in excellent condition. Piece was purchased from Art collectors Manuel Suarez & Luis Carvajal who were Warhols neighbors in Fire Island New York who purchased it directly from the artist in Studio 54 in New York. Piece has been part of the same Puerto Rico/ Miami Collection since. Andy Warhol was an American visual artist, film director, producer. A leading figure in the pop art movement, Warhol is considered one of the most important American artists of the second half of the 20th century.
