One piece die struck brass construction. Front shows a diving eagle with a lightning bolt in each talon. Reverse side is black. Includes the machine embroidered cloth woven cotton ribbon with a thin horizontal sewn broach pin back with a locking catch. This medal was awarded for acts of heroism or meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. Medal measures 1 5/8 inches wide by 2 1/8 inches tall.
